Blow-In Insulation

Blow-in insulation is the most common and the easiest way to install insulation into a home.  It is also the cleanest method of insulation installation. Blow-in insulation is installed is through 150 feet of hose, which allows the equipment to remain by the curb throughout most of the installation.  No clean up is needed after installation, and there is no lingering odor left behind. 

The most common type of blow-in insulation is fiberglass. Fiberglass insulation is made from recycled materials and contains about 20% to 30% recycled glass. The reason why fiberglass insulation is the most common type of blow-in insulation is because it is the least expensive and is energy efficient. It will keep your home insulated and keep your air conditioning units and heating units last longer, therefore lowering your utility bills.

Blow-in insulation is typically installed in attics, crawl spaces, or other unenclosed spaces in your home.  It can also be installed in enclosed cavities, such as walls. The amount of insulation you need in your home is determined by the R-Value, which is the thermal resistance.  Blow-in insulation should be installed by a professional insulation contractor who is experienced at determining the correct R-value and density needed.
